Mandlebrot Fractal Set Demonstrating the Miniaturization and
Magnification of Life Forms via Interference of Cosmic Order
Representations of fractals appear in human art of Religious and Spiritual varieties. Above left you can see an Ottoman illustration of sacrifice of Ishmael dated to 1583. Above right you can a Mandelbrot fractal image with very similar shape and proportions. Fractals were used in Religious Art before the discovery of the compter generated Mandelbrot Set.
"I find the ideas in the fractals, both as a body of knowledge
and as a metaphor,
an
incredibly important way of looking at the world."--Vice President Al Gore, New York Times
